About Kagemaru Himeno
Himeno is a manga artist and illustrator from Sagamihara, Japan. She debuted in 1994 in the manga magazine RIBON Original and came to the card game when people working on Pokémon cards saw her Pokémon drawings in the games magazine Famitsu Bros. According to Japanese Wikipedia she has drawn close to 700 cards; 481 of them are listed on the official Japanese card site.
Several of her early cards are among the best known: Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon in Jungle, Dragonite and Aerodactyl in Fossil, and Dark Gyarados, Dark Dugtrio and Dark Hypno in Team Rocket. She also drew the characters for the game Pokémon Card GB and the manga Pokémon Card ni Natta Wake, six volumes about the card game.
Her style moves from cute to tough depending on the Pokémon. In a comment for the card game’s 25th anniversary she said she always keeps in mind that every Pokémon has someone who loves it in particular. She has signed cards at events in Japan and abroad, including Hawaii in 2000 and Charlotte, USA, in 2023.
A loose card has left its packaging and is therefore sold as a used item, however clean it is. Sealed products are sold as new. What does the condition mean?
